FARHAD in Black Cats

1960s Interview

Summary: Magazine article on this eyeranian singer with translation

Farhad was initially part of the Group Black Cats in the late 60s . Then he went solo with his hit Mard-e Tanhaa ( Lonely man ) from the soundtrack of the movie Reza Motori ( Reza, the guy with the motorcycle).

Recently a magazine article from the 1960s was found where they interview Farhad. Watch the video. Below the video I've written a loose English translation.

English Translation:

Article: Farhad singer and one of the members of black cats.

Girls and boys if there are feelings inside of you ..if you close
your eyes you will further enjoy the music that comes from this
individual full of "feelings" ( sounds terrible in English but in
farsi it is actually nice).

He tightly hugs his guitar ... and he sings . Maybe he is thinking of
a beautiul girl whose name is Monique .

Farhad Mehrdad is the singer of Black Cats ...singer for todays
generation. Someone we can compare with other artists that are
Jazz-experts like " Ray Charles ". ( Dario Adds: Ahahaaa Ahaahaa ....
Dario falls on the floor laughing, then pulls himself off the floor and
sits back up again...).

YOung people like songs with faster rythm. Farhad is 23 years old. He
comes from a family that are familiar with music and sings in English
due to the fact that he practices each song a lot. he sings and plays

He likes Viguens voice and couple of Manouchehr records that have a
traditional feel to them he also likes. But you might be surprised he
wants to sing like Banan, Shahidi (traditional music...)

... he suggests performing foreign songs in the original language (My
note: aparently they even played greek songs on the radio there).

Most songs I sing are of a "Negro" sound !! and if we change the
lyrics to persian it will sound silly...

Then they ask them about becoming famous in Europe...( Dario's note: How
dilusional..). The guy responds that yes we are strong enough for that
but that first they must pay more attention to us at home. Then the
annoying reporter keeps with the international theme ...and how to for
iranians to become famous abroud. Farhad responds that the best chance
is for GouGoush and that they must stand by her.
