Congratulations Team U.S.A .. Top Winners of Group C
Thank you team USA for reminding everyone what football is about. They played joyfully, beautifully, unpretentiously, and here they are top of their group passing to the next round of the world cup.
USA 1 Algeria 0 World Cup South Africa 2010
So embarrased on the other hand for team Spain whose players have large ego problems and instead of playing well they constantly blame referees and others for their lack of success.
Dear Genius Songwriter: I wish you wake up soon and will read this.
In 1993 I was living in California and Gustavo had just released an album called "Amor Amarillo". In the latino market there, Spanish Language rock music was still not mainstream and most latino stores concentrated mainly on ballads and Salsa music. Spanish language rock CD's would be released in small quantities and where hard to find.
So I went to the store and asked the girl behind the counter for Gustavo Cerati which she had never heard of. Then she asked what I wished she didn't: The title of the LP. A bit embarrassingly I said: "Amor Amarillo". She responded: "What weird names they put on their records these rockers!!?".
That album is magnificently weird. The sort of record that takes you on a journey to a world that is more fantastic and stress free than the actual reality. Gustavo was supposed to take readers questions in a Spanish Newspaper the week after his Caracas concert. I sent in my question: Did you know that many people get interested and eventually visit Argentina because of your music?.
More of my Cerati Memories:
I went to his October 2004 concert in Madrid. Thanks to a good friend, I was placed right on the first row just below Cerati. In this next video, you can see me in that concert. I was still wearing glasses then:
Heres a photo I took that night. Back then it was called Sala Arena .. now Heinekin.
Yes, he was looking at me. Something funny that happened was that he played a brand new song which he had not recorded yet and he introduced the song that way. When he finished playing the song, it occurred to me to shout: "Buena.."(i.e. good one). Given my luck, right that second everyone was silent so my voice was heard and he looked down at me with a smile, and i felt like an idiot. I don't think he has had a bad song since 1990.
Unique editions of Signos LP
Signos (1986) is one of the great albums of all times. There were some unique editions of that LP:
1. In my record buying life, one of the regrets I have is having passed on buying the "Spain" (España) editions of Signos by Soda Stereo. The LP was released on vinyl in Spain. Must have been in very few copies because in all these years of record-bin digging I've only seen it once. The Spain edition has the same cover and insert as the Argentinian with ONE BIG difference: The song "Cuando pase el temblor", from Soda's previous South American LP Nada Personal is added to the Spain vinyl (vinilo) edition of Signos.
2. There is a blue (Azul) vinyl edition of Signos released in Colombia with a CBS Columbia tag. See image:
Notes: تک نواز نی فلوت صنتی Emadram was a great songwriter and also a performing artist and vocalist. But additionally he was a great wind instrumentalist particularly middle eastern flute instruments. In this LP they have him perform in this facet.

In September my first Persian song will become available. It is already written and is called: آتیش بزنش . The main arrangement which is played on electric guitar has also been written. But the rest of the arrangements are still to be written and programming and production work hasn't been started. I've decided to make these announcements regarding آتیش بزنش in order to track my own progress and also to encourage myself not to chicken out of it.
The next link is an article where a specialist doctor gives his view on the latest development, and as suspected by many of us, he mentions that Gustavo was operated on too late and that the operation performed in Venezuela should have been done earlier. As you may remember he was in the hospital for two full days before they operated on him. Shame!!
The search box Does NOT WORK properly . It may or may not give the correct results. In many cases it ignores many existing pages and entries.
The best way to find the content you are searching for is to BROWSE using the two set of topic menus that appear on the right hand column of this website. There are two menus , the first one is for general topics, such as Spain Charts, stories of my travels, .... . The second menu, further down is for i--ranian 70s music.
Do NOT browse using the tags you see under each individual post. Some of the tags or labels under individual posts are placed only for technical reasons as a requirement from some news sites that automatically index my site. Instead, to find content on my site, browse the menus on the right-hand column.
Additionally the only fully updated menus are the ones on the very first page of the site. That is, the entry page to the site.
So before browsing the menus, locate yourself at exactly the following address:
http://updatesdario.blogspot.com
The menu on any OTHER page or subpage of the site or related sites can potentially be out of date.
The different pages and files of this site are hosted on three different domains:
www.dariointernet.com
www.irannostalgia.com
updatesdario.blogspot.com
There is no relation between the topic and the domain in which they are hosted.
If you must search, the best results are obtained by going to Google and typing the following command:
+(site:www.dariointernet.com OR site:www.irannostalgia.com OR site:updatesdario.blogspot.com) +"string you are searching for"
Or you can search each of the 3 domains separately:
+site:www.dariointernet.com +"string being searched"
Repeat this for the other two domains:
+site:www.irannostalgia.com +"string being searched"
and finally
