Day 1 in Nikosia Nicosa Leftkosa Leftkosia cyprus cipre Checkpoint charlie Had a haircut in Cyprus and me and the barber talked about corrupt Spanish and Cypriot politicians and were surprised by the amazing similarities. Politicians with 3 or 4 salaries and pensions: Same as in Spain. Government employees with outrageous salaries and benefits. 44% of Spanish Government employees make nearly 3 times the typical salary of a Spaniard. Similar stories in Cyprus, except that they are fixing things, while in Spain politicans wouldn´t want to change any of that. Why would they?
