No one to listen or help me. Amidst all these ugly feelings and anxiety, life awarded me with this gorgeous sight at night in Cordoba where they where holding a flamenco show for free in one of their plaza's. May 2011

Two stitches in one of my eyelids without Anesthesia thanx to Greedy Health Insurance Five months ago I had a Stye (in spanish they call them Chalazion or Orzuelo) in one of my eyelids. For five months I went from one inept doctor to another telling me to apply useless lotions for a month each making the problem worse. One of these doctors even suggested a semi Voodoo solution that made the thing get infected. So eventually one day it looked so bad I had to go to Spains truely fantastic health emergency service, where they told me when the bump gets that big, there is no point putting lotions, you have to get it operated. But then when I went to make an appointment I was given a date two months from now !! So I decided to go thru Private Insurance provided by my employer. For the operation I went to a wonderful private clinic which I'll write about later. Their billing department called my insurance to find out that they will not pay for anesthesia . I thought to myself...

Correos - Spain's Postal services abusive prices dariointernet.com Summary : Plus a picture disc by LIME - synthpop - in action Recently I sold an LP record on eBay to someone in the U.S. From having looked at similar sales on eBay it appeared that the average shipping price for an LP ( 12") would be around $10. So that's the amount I asked for. Then I took the package to Spain's postal service Correos for shipping. I was told the postage would be 17 Euros !!!! That is 24 dollars !! Needless to say, I lost money on the eBay Sale. This is another example on how everything in Spain is out of proportion more expensive than everywhere else while peoples incomes are still embarrasingly low. This is the medical procedure by which they stick an aparatus thru your mouth, down your throwt, in order to inspect your stomach and beyond. Yes it goes beyond the stomach because there is an organ called Duodenum after the stomach that it also inspects. I knew it was not going to be pleasant. In fact you have to sign a letter consenting to the dangers which in extreme cases can include cardiac arrest. So I was nervous. Goleador - Italian Gummy Candy updatesdario.blogspot.com Summary : My favorite candy when in Italy Each time I am in Italy I go crazy staring into every tabaccheria hoping they sell these gummy candies I love so much called GOLEADOR They sort of feel like the gummy bears of Haribo , but they are different as Goleador is fruitier with Goleador also including a licorice version. Travel Advisory: Palermo Attack -> Do Not Visit this city On January 30th I went to visit Palermo , Sicily , Italy. I had already been in Sicily previously, but this was my first visit to this particular town. At 11pm I was walking up Via Roma, when two white Italian guys asked me if I had "fire" , to which I nicely repsonded: Non Fumo! I kept walking wondering ... how wierd. I'm insisting on the "white" italian, so that they don't go blaming "extracomunitari" again. Anyway, I kept walking wondering why these smokers don't carry a fucking lighter with them. I turned on a tiny street called Via Divisi which goes to Via Maqueda where my hotel was. As soon as I entered the portal of the hotel. Survived a scary robbery attempt at my apartment. Woow! I live on the top floor of an apartment building... think 6th or 7 th floor. It has this small window that gives to the roof. The roof as you see in the banner is not exactly a flat highway, but a typical angled spanish roof. Well it seams like the economic crisis has arrived to Madrid too!. I was sound asleep and the windows shut since its cold and I've caught the flue. Then around 5 AM, something wakes me up. I see light... It was a flashlight. Where the bed is there is no light switch. So it took me like 10 seconds to put on the light. But in the meantime I saw that my window had been opened and a guy had half his body and head already in the apartment as he waved his arm with a flashlight. Very scary to see that latino face in the dark with the flashlight. It took him a while to stop until I hit him with a piece of long wood I use to close the curtains. These are the pair of really sweet "lobo" or "wolf" dogs in my neighbourhood. They are very calm and they let me pad them and touch them. There is a third dog of that breed in the neighbourhood. He is much older. He moves really slowly which might mean he is really old. But he is so sweet. It is owned by a hairdresser that has a barber shop in the hood! I had gone out for a stroll hoping some fresh air would lift my mood. But not even such a cute site could cheer me up. It was one of those days I had to think about my future.
