Video Location Scouting for the clip of my song Atish Bezanesh (Bailatela)

Video Location Scouting in Madrid for the clip of my song Atish Bezanesh (Bailatela) For couple of days now, I have been trying to figure out how to approach the video for my upcoming song آتیش بزنش Atish Bezanesh (Bailatela) . There are two possible ways to do the video. One option is to give it to someone else who has done other videos. The other option is to do it myself hiring the necessary people, such as, the Camera Operator, etc. I'll talk about that a bit later. Today I was location scouting for the video. I got out on the street taking pictures of possible locations. The key is that the place has to look very "Spain" . It also has to meet some other technical details, like, few people walking around, large enough space in front, etc.. One common theme in Madrid: It is hard to find a nice monument that is not under construction, or covered up in graffiti. Madrid, the city that is always under construction and can never be enjoyed, thanks to Mr.Vampire, our m...

Strings Patch Drove Me Crazy !!!!

Image
Strings Patch Drove Me Crazy !!!! Strings Patch Drove Me Crazy !!!! Another 2 or 3 hours were spent today in order to achieve only 3 seconds of musical arrangements. This time it was because a "Strings" patch - sound font - gave me a nasty surprise. I loaded it into Pro Tools and started playing what would be the string arrangement that introduces the chorus. Anyway, I know the chords of the song and have them written down. I was sure that the final chord before the chorus was a "G" major. But after loading the "String Patch", I would click the "G" key on the keyboard, but it would not match the rest of the recorded music. I told myself, maybe I wrote the chords down wrong or something!! But after some tests it became clear that the patch was not right. Then I thought maybe I had unexpectedly pressed some button that lifts the sound by 1 note or changes the pitch by one note... But even after resetting the patch was still playing an ...

Update 6 on Atish Bezanesh Recording. Two hours work for a 3 seconds arrangement. Plus Saw Lead Synth Sound Brings Memories

Update 6 on Atish Bezanesh recording. Two hours work for a 3 seconds arrangement. Plus Saw Lead Synth Sound Brings Back Memories Today it took me 2 hours to create a small guitar/keyboard arrangement that only lasts 3 seconds . However, it sounds super cool . It is part of my work on my first Farsi song and recording called آتیش بزنش (Bailatela) - romanization: Atish Bezanesh - . When originally I made my planning, I had optimistically thought that the keyboard arrangements would take me only a week, part-time, to write and record. However, now it is clear that this takes way longer. I was so naive to think that I would just switch the keyboard and start playing. I forgot that one has to select sounds carefully and then even modify these sounds to make them appropriate for the recording. Talking about synth sounds, while searching for sounds I stumbled upon the Nice Saw Lead sound which is sort of like the moog sound. I used it for the entire bridge section of the song...

Pro Tools-eando

Image
Pro Tools-eando It was 1992. I was trying to finish a song for which I had a very good verse, but couldn't come up with the appropriate chorus. It had dragged on for weeks. Then that sunny day as I pulled into a gas station in Costa Mesa, I made the decision to drop my music interest all together. I was going to college AND working at some shit job to pay for my rent and I just had no time to breath. So after aaaalll these years, I am forcing my self to get some discipline and start attempting some shit again!! First step was to get Pro Tools setup and figure out how a 6/8 (p-ersian) time is programmed into it. Turns out that, there are formats of old blues drum patterns that are also 6/8. The best part is that if you can't change chords fast enough when playing a guitar, with Pro Tools you can easily fix it. Anyway, very little achieved, but at least I got off my ass and took the first baby steps here. The noise produced :) below:
