Last night I saw the movie MILK so I became a bit nostalgic about the Bay Area where I spent many years of my life. Now with the shitty weather we have in Madrid, I miss California's sunshine more than ever. Though the reality is that the grass is always greener on the other side. So anyway, in my nostalgic mode I went to recover some old photos from San Francisco. Unfortunately most of the pictures I took there were in the 90s and back then I used a normal camera that uses a negative and I also don't appear in the pics so they are annonymous. Its funny that despite all efforts to keep backups on hard drives and Cd's, how easitly the material gets lost. It took me hours to recover these fotos. These ones are not that old, but at least I'm in them. It was towards the END of my US stay, right before leaving for good. They are all from January 2004, a very horrible time in my life. But I'll go see MILK as it is an important part of our civil rights history. Since unfortunately these days people learn their history from movies, its great to see that this story also gets its movie. Hay dos perros "lobos" por mi barrío, que bueno creo que son dos lobos directamente, y siempre les acaricio cuando paso y sus dueño les ha dejado afuera. Spent two days: Friday and Saturday in London checking out the gay scene for those of us who like big hairy "blokes"!! On friday night in Central London (Soho) I tried "The Kings Arms". Its true, people there are nice, and a small bear was reasonably priced. However it was not a place for cruising and meeting new people. The guys were drinking their beer in the street infront of the bar and they were all standing in circles with their friends and lonley tourist like me had simply no chance!!! So it was nice, but definitly it is not for loners! You have to go with friends. Updstairs there was a bunch of tables. Now, you know you cant cruise whent there are dinner tables in the middle!! Then I tried 79 CXR. This was more appropiate for a loner... A 4pound cover charge and your in. The music was a bit too loud. Started the year in Hungary visiting childhood friend Shahram. Then I went to Greece as described in the Oia pictures I mentioned in previous posts. I spent my Birthday in Athens, Greece. I'll remember it, since I was sitting on the hills around the acropolis looking at athens.
