Daniel Vangarde ( Bangalter ) is a French songwriter and producer. He is the father Thomas of Daft Punk. In the early 1970s Vangarde worked with Sheila B. Devotion with fellow writer and producer Jean Kluger. He released the LP Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki, containing the song "Aieaoa" ( "Aie a Mwana" ) rerecorded later by Bananarama, becoming their first UK hit. Vangarde's main international successes came later in the 1970s, as writer and producer with Ottawan and the Gibson Brothers ("Cuba").
